DOUBLE WIN AT WYNNUM
26 July, 2010
The Wests Panthers travelled to Wynnum on Sunday for what was to be a great day out for the Panthers,
The Tony Curries Tyres and More Colts won back to back games with a 22-10 Victory over the seagulls the young Panthers down 10-4 at half time rallied in the 2nd half to completely out play the opposition - Brett Coutts was outstanding tearing the opposition apart at times and stinging them in defence. The Panthers control there own destiny from here and now move to be on the verge of a semi final shot, Coach Kellaway and his support group are working hard with these lads to keep them on track and if they keep producing that standard of footy they will be hard to stop - Local Wests Mitchy product Dominic Biondi continues to improve - Well Done Boys and keep at it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Wests Panthers A-Grade squad continued its run of being undefeated for the past 9 Rounds with a tough but ruthless performance running out winners 25-16. Down 16-10 at half time the Panthers came out in the second half and defended there line like a team possessed , Former NRL Players Turner and Starr where outstanding with there efforts and the 37 yr old Starr bagging 2 try's and playing the 70 Minutes without a spell. The win was even sweeter playing with out Daniel Green the QLD Captain and Damien Petrie Who both pulled out Injured on the Friday night . This Team has a real belief in its process and are now clear 3rd with 4 Rounds remaining .
We need all the Panthers supporters out at Purtell Park this Sunday for what will be a cracker afternoon of footy with the Panthers taking on the Easts Tigers -The Tigers whooped it up last time the 2 teams met in round 4 and Wests have been waiting for the re-match for a long while - Looking forward to your continued Support go the Mighty Panthers .
PANTHERS HOT TO TROT
21 July, 2010
The Wests Panthers A Grade side moved into 3rd position with an emphatic 34 to 16 win over the 2nd placed Burleigh Bears. The Panthers were too strong in the middle of the field with Adam Starr, Damien Petrie and the "Fridge" making in roads into the Burleigh defensive line. Captain Shannon Fish was at his scheming best out of dummy half.
With Burleigh only having 160 points scored against them before this contest, the game was always going to be tough. Wests showed through enterprise and sticking to a solid game plan that there were metres to be made. Coach Craig Ingebrigtsen whilst happy with the win is not getting carried away as the team he plays this week-end have already beaten the Panthers twice this season.
Looking forward to seeing you all at Kougari Oval this Sunday.
