




The Panthers have jumped out of the gates in Round 1 with an impressive start in both grades. The FOGS Cup A-grade recorded an impressive 48 - 6 rout of the Tweed Heads Seagulls.
Higlights included three spectacular tries from winger Adam Breen and a 50m effort from five-eighth Matt Church. New recruit Mitchell Simpson nailed 7 coversions with the majority kicked from within 5 metres of the sideline. The forwards laid a good platform for the outside backs with the front three of Zac Hook, Brenton Stonier and Greg Malenstein dominating the ruck area.
The FOGS Colts also recorded a win in there first outing 34 -24. The kiwi connection were impressive with Ali "Lionel" Lata scoring three tries on debut. Other try scorers were Tere Kaue with 2 and Kaue Kaue and Cameron Starkey with one apiece.
Matt Lennon had a difficult day with the boot landing 3 from 7 attempts. Credit must be given to the Tweed Heads team who completed the match with eleven men and tried right till the final siren.
This week see's both teams travel to Ipswich at Briggs Rd with FOGS Colts commencing at 10.45am and the FOGS A Grade at 12.15pm.
