Last Saturday saw the Panthers register two good wins in the return home to Kev McKell Oval affectinately known as "The Jungle". Looks like the colts coach Doug Kellaway will have to keep the heart pills handy as the Panther Colts defeated a fast finishing Tigers outfit 30 - 28. To impress for the Panthers were outside backs Tere Kaue and Ali Lata who thrilled the Panthers crowd with a few long raids down the field. in the forwards the Fridge Matt Zgrajewski laid a good platform with backrower Paul Tuia providing many great offloads to trouble the Easts defence.
In the FOGS Cup A-grade match two sides met in a quality match that many say may be a preview of finals football in September. It was a tough, fast and physical match that saw the Panthers prevail 22 -12. A length of the field intercept on full time from winger Adam Breen had the crowd on there feet to salute the victorious Panthers in the return home.
This week the Panthers host the Sunshine Coast Sea Eagles in The Jungle which will be a hard fought contest in both grades with some great footy to be enjoyed. Starting this week and then at every home game the future of the Panthers will be on display with the Panthers Under 8's challenge to be played between the FOGS Colts and FOGS A-grade matches. There will be teams playing from West Arana Hills, Wests Juniors, Wests Mitchelton and Albany Creek clubs.
Games start from 2.30pm this Saturday so get down to Kev McKell Oval on Dawson Parade Arana Hills and cheer on the Mighty Red and Black Panthers
