The Tony Currie Tyres and More Colts suffered their first defeat. After leading for much of the first half, costly errors and missed tackles lead to Norths leading at half time and going on with the job in the second half. The Colts did show late in the game what they are capable of by closing the gap to six points right on full time. Coach Doug Kellaway whilst upset with the first defeat of the season is optimistic about the weeks ahead.
The best for the Colts were Ben Conley, Zac Litherland, Shaun Rees and Zach Strasser. I'm certain the Colts will hit back this week and play the footy everyone knows they can play.
The Coldwell Banker Inspire A Grade side had a tough 12 - 10 victory over the competition leaders Norths. Whilst the win wasn't pretty it was a great victory for the Panthers who have been very unlucky for the past two weeks. Coach Craig Ingebrigtsen praised his sides commitment and effort to continually defend their line and repel the hungry devils. Outstanding efforts from Lock Daniel Green and Hooker and Captain Shannon Fish.
The win will do wonders for the team morale as they are trying to build their season. Good news was the welcome return of experienced Halfback Denny Lambert.
Both sides are on the road this week at Burleigh with Colts kicking off at 3:30pm and A Grade at 5:00pm. Seats are available on the Bus - anyone interested in joining us call Craig Ingebrigtsen on 0412 714 284. Get in early as there are limited seats.
