The impending launch of the Western Districts Panthers Business Club has been marred by a bitter dispute over the naming of the Club. On one side are League Legend Greg Oliphant and his supporters of the “BLACK CAT CLUB” and on the other former Panthers Club Captain Tim Watson and his more conservative cronies with “PANTHER BUSINESS CLUB”. One thing the old team-mates agree on is that the yet to be named Business Club is sure to be a great success.

 

 Business Club Sponsor Craig Fenton of AFA (Australian Financial Advisers) was reluctant to interfere with the dispute saying that he was sure Olly and Watto would sort the matter out in the usual professional Panther way, adding that regardless of the AFA Business Clubs name it was a fantastic opportunity for business people to take advantage of a proven business strategy, in networking and at the same time contribute to an organisation with a commitment to the development of youth within the community.

 

Local businessman and Western Districts Chairman Wayne Parsons can see no reason to wield the big stick on the issue, instead suggesting an internet poll on the title of the Business Club. Wayne also pointed out that several Panther's Sponsors had already benifited from their relationship with the Club.
